Yandi Monardo was born in Uruguay, trained from childhood in Montevideo and moved to Mexico in the 1990s, later settling in Los Cabos, where the desert and the Sea of Cortez shape much of his work. He paints mainly in an abstract, expressive style and also works in sculpture. His gallery, opened in 2011, has shown contemporary artists from several countries and runs art programmes for children and adults. The current space is in Luxury Avenue beside Puerto Paraíso, convenient for marina visitors and suited to collectors of large-format contemporary painting.
